Hiding away …

Hi, so for the last few months I have been hiding away, drawing like a madman, making Chiselton t best book I can currently make it. I am midway through redrawing episode three. Once I finish that episode, I will start scanning the 72 finished pages for toning and lettering. I will also start thumbnailing episode four and beyond. My original plan was the create four episodes, and wrap up the story neatly, but I realised I wanted to draw out the action, and show the readers more of Chiselton’s world of 1888.

My current estimate of this, the first book of Chiselton’s adventures, is now somewhere around ten episodes, or two meaty compilations. And then there’s book two …

I still continue to thrive.

It seems to me that this may be a fine time to remind people of my continued existence, to inspire fear into my enemies’ guts, lust in the loins of the most attractive of the womenfolk, and joy in the hearts of my staunchest supporters.

The halfwit Twelves, who is supposed to be chronicling my exploits, has recently been released from the Holloway Sanatorium now that his opium quivers have ended, and has resumed his doodlings. Luckily for him, I had not been able to find a similar artist to take his place.

Mostly as I have been lurking in London’s sewers for the last two months staking out some anarchist plot by the Weekaday Gang, or somesuch.

Beavering away…

With #1’s release becoming increasingly imminent, I’ve been drawing like a madman on #2… at the halfway point in finished artwork, awaiting Dan’s wordsmithing to provide the dialogue. To this end I feel this would be a good point to provide some sneak peeks from #2…

Queen Victoria inspects the Selenite Guard…

Hints of what is to come in #2…

For Retailers and Reviewers

So taking a cue from other creators, Sir Harry Chiselton has a magical page, exclusively for Retailers and interested Reviewers. This page has plot breakdowns, order codes/info and a sneak peek at #1, as well as a 11×17″ downloadable poster.

WOW! I know, right.

To qualify as a retailer – basically show me your Twitter feed or website. What’s great about comic-book stores is the sheer obviousness of them. They used to have really obscure names like “Dark They Were, and Golden-Eyed“. Now they have names like “Larry’s Comics“, which makes it really easy to spot if you’re a retailer or not.

To qualify as a reviewer – Similarly to Retailers: simply show me your Twitter feed or website, along with some reviews you have written and sites/magazines you have written them for.

So – contact me – either DM my Twitter, or Message me via Facebook.

Florida launch

So I got the pages in just in the nick of time, and here’s the Poster I wrapped up last night…

Also – featured on their website.

Keep checking back here for updates.

Fun With Facebook

So, to provide some quality content, I’ve posted up a few pages at FaceBook – 2-5 along with additional comments. Attached here is page 1, which doesn’t say anything or give anything away beyond that the adventure starts somewhere in Romania… but then if you’ve been following Sir Harry’s Twitter-feed, you’d know that already, right?

Tip Of The Iceberg

Hrrm. So, there’s this Blog, and Sir Harry’s Twittter-Feed which Dan and I are using like a literary Exquisite Corpse to outline events running up to Issue #1. Last night I also started up Sir Harry’s Facebook page. Dan and I will fill in more details as time progresses, so why not Like, Recommend and Friend Sir Harry on Facebook.

As the ABC Warriors said, “Spread The Word”.

Storymaking Updates

So Chiselton #1 is pretty much ‘In the can’, as it were – maybe a few minor edits and then hopefully it’ll be loosed upon the World sometime in July/August. While The Editors Do Their Thing, I’m trying to drum up publicity, and start on #2.

At this point I have the first 10 pages roughed out, and 3 pages of that pencilled. One of the joys of working in ‘The Marvel Style’ is that I get to ink pages when I feel they’re ready, and in any order I want. After 20 years (?) of mindless self-indulgence, I’m still learning about balloon placement. Luckily, I have Dan to look to for pacing and any plot-twists.

Maybe before I start inking I’ll post some pages online – once #1 comes out… (yes, way to keep you all in suspense…)

And I’ll be introducing the Steam-Powered Rock Saw… Rock Saws and Zombies. #2 WILL be messy.
